| After a slow start by Coxheath & Farleigh we went one down after 8 mins. The defence held on well for most of the first half, with glimmers of light from the mid-field. After the break the mid-field came to life with good inter-play from Jim Funnell and Chris Harrison. Chris linking well with his new strike partner Jack Flann. Also new signing Rob Manser was strong in mid-field as to Tom Huckstep. In the 54 minute Chris Harrison scored our opener of the season. Improving more as the half developed we must have had fifteen shots on target, but for some excellent goal keeping by Range Rovers we would have gone on to win.

| Coxheath and Farleigh came out fighting from the start, firing on all cylinders and within five minutes were 0-1 up. The opener a great goal by left back Addison Merricks. A much better first half for the mid-fielders. All four taking control and contributing to a first half hatrick by the captain Chris Harrison. Just before the break Morgan Hellen having a great game at centre back aggravated an old injury which retired him from the game.
Coxheath started the second half looking disjointed and disorganised and were under pressure letting in two goals which took the game to 3-4. Chris Harrison put one more in the net and with ten minutes to go Bearsted were awarded a penalty and scored making it 4-5. Coxheath and Farleigh played out the game to earn three well deserved points |

After the third game of the season Coxheath & Farleigh remain unbeaten and this win keeps the pressure on the teams at the top. Coxheath started the game the strongest and hit the bar and post in the first few minutes before finally taking the lead through Luke Bramley in which was probably the best move of the match.
Borough Green however hit back and scored a break away goal to level the score. Coxheath although having a lot of possession were not at there best until Tom Huckstepp scored from well outside the box to make it 2-1. Not to be outdone Borough Green hit back to make it 2-2 with a looping shot from the corner of the box that gave Ben Blatchford no chance in the Coxheath goal. That was not the end of the scoring as just on half time another cross from Tom Huckstepp was kicked into his own goal by a Borough Green defender. The half time score remained at 3-2 to Coxheath.
The second half saw Coxheath get well into the stride scoring four more goals and only conceding one. The goal scorers were Chris Harrison with two, another from Tom Huckstepp and probably the best shot of the game by Rob Manser after some good work on the right by the unselfish Jack Flann. In the closing stages Borough Green broke away to score their third making the final score 7-3
From defence through the midfield to the forwards the whole team battled hard throughout this game and there were a number of candidates for the man of the match, but Rob Manser got the decision for his hard work in midfield and his first goal in a Coxheath shirt. Well done Rob. |

Still unbeaten after four games Coxheath & Farleigh continue there positive start to the season. Playing against a Vinters Park Team who has yet to register a point this season Coxheath were made to work very hard for these three points and Vinters must feel unlucky that they did not grab a late equaliser with the game at 3-2 with still twelve minutes remaining.
Vinters Park took an early lead scoring after just 1 minute following a long clearance by the goalkeeper that caught the Coxheath defence by surprise and the Vinters Park centre forward gave Ben Blatchford no chance with his shot. Coxheath did not panic from that early setback and set about getting back into the game. Shots from Jim Funnell and Chris Harrison forced good saves from the impressive Vinters Park Goalkeeper, until on 7 minutes the equaliser came from an unlikely source centre back Morgan Hellen. Morgan went across to take a corner from the right swung it in with his left foot it was cleared straight back to Morgan who let fly with his left foot straight into the roof of the net giving the Vinters Goalkeeper no chance.
Coxheath started to take the game to Vinters and finally took the lead after 24 minutes when a shot from Rob Manser somehow found its way into the net following two deflections and a despairing hand from the Vinters Park Goalkeeper. Following further pressure from Coxheath the third goal came on 30 minutes when after some good work on the left a Luke Bramley shot was defected into the goal. The score remained 3-1 at half time.
The second half turned into a real battle with players on both sides giving there all for there team with both sides having opportunities to score. Vinters did finally score on 58 minutes to make the last 12 minutes a bit nail biting for both managers. In the end the Coxheath defence held firm with Sean Morris outstanding at the heart of the defence which won Sean the man of the match. Well done Sean. |

Today saw one of the most amazing starts to a game of football with Coxheath & Farleigh taking a 5-0 lead inside the first 10 minutes. The goals started to fly in from the 1st minute when Jack Flann scored his first goal in a competitive match for Coxheath & Farleigh. This was followed by a 2nd goal from Rob Manser on 2 minutes a 3rd from Jack Flann on 3 minutes the 4th goal came on 7 minutes from Chris Harrison and Jack Flann completed his hatrick in the 10th minute.
Coxheath had made an exceptional start to the game and were playing some of their best attacking football of the season. The 6th goal of the half came on 19 minutes and was scored by Luke Bramley following another spell of Coxheath pressure. Bridgewood did have two good chances forcing an excellent one handed save from Ben Blatchford and also hitting the post after some poor defending on the right. The score remained 6-0 at half time.
The second half started as the first with substitute Danny Jones scoring within a minute of the restart following a good move on the right. Bridgewood did hit back with two goals, the first an excellent long range shot and the second a sloppy piece of defending by Coxheath following a short goal kick. Luke Bramley scored the 8th goal of the match for Coxheath shortly before the final whistle.
This was another workman like team performance with everyone playing their part in this well deserved victory. Man of the match went to Jack Flann for his first half hatrick that help set Coxheath on their way. Well done Jack we would like four goals next week. |

With only 11 players to select from, today was always going to be a hard game for Coxheath. Coxheath started the better of the two teams with Danny Jones scoring after only 3 minutes following a good move on the left started by a good through ball by Addison Merricks.
Coxheath were looking good for the first 19 minutes until 2 goals in three minutes saw the game turn and Coxheath were never able to recover.
On 19 minutes the Coxheath defence failed to deal with a through ball down the Longfield right and a shot by the Longfield winger found its way into the net, then on 22 minutes another ball this time down the middle saw a powerful drive beat the Coxheath keeper.
The second half saw Coxheath pushing for an equaliser, but it was Longfield who hit the killer blow with 15 minutes remaining.
Coxheath failed to create any clear cut chances although may have had an appeal for a penalty when Jack Flann looked to be challenged unfairly in the Longfield box. Sean Morris and Morgan Hellen both had good games at the heart of the Coxheath defence, but it was Rob Manser who won man of the match for his tireless efforts in the centre of midfield. Well done Rob, 2nd time the trophy could be coming your way.
On a more cheery note we will not have to see Paul’s legs anymore as he always insists on wearing shorts every season until the team loses and well done lads you lost today. Only joking………………..

Coxheath returned to their winning ways this week with a very skilful and workmen like performance against a very strong Park Regis side. The Coxheath passing in the first half was some of the best seen this season and even in the second half when under a lot of pressure from Park Regis the Coxheath defence and midfield still found the time pass their way out of trouble.
The first goal came as early as the 3rd minute when Chris Harrison latched onto a Jack Flann pass and beat the Park Regis keeper with a good hard shot. The second goal came on 5 minutes when following a clearance by the Park Regis defence Jim Funnell hit a left foot shot into the top corner that gave the Park Regis goal keeper no chance.
Coxheath made it 3-0 on 26 minutes when Rob Manser hit a free kick from the edge of the box direct into the goal with a perfect shot. Park Regis did hit back with a goal on 30 minutes following a through pass that split the Coxheath defence. The half time score remained 3-1.
Park Regis took the game to Coxheath in the second half and put the Coxheath defence under extreme pressure, however following the introduction of Danny Jones on 53 minutes Coxheath broke down the right with Jim Funnell who crossed to Chris Harrison, Chris shot was parried by the Park Regis keeper into the path of Danny who slotted the ball home to make the score 4-1.
That was not the end of the scoring as Park Regis scored a 2nd goal on 66 minutes following another good move by the lively Park Regis attack.
There were a few candidates for man of the match Sean Morris who had another fine game at the heart of Coxheath defence, Jim Funnell who battled hard in midfield for 70 minutes never giving up on a tackle, but the award this week went to Ben Blatchford whose safe hands, anticipation and brave goal keeping kept us in the match at an important phase of the game. Well done Ben I think Alex Ferguson maybe looking at you after yesterday.
New signing Lewis Hogan looks a useful addition to the squad. Lewis played a valuable part in today’s game.

Three goals in the space the first 12 minutes of the second half was enough for Blue Eagles to inflict Coxheath’s second defeat of the season.
Playing on at pitch with no width the recent passing displays that Coxheath have been putting on for the fans was not evident in this game. The game started brightly enough with the majority of the play being in midfield.
It was Blue Eagles who took the lead following a corner that Coxheath failed to clear.
Coxheath continued to battle and on 28 minutes Jim Funnell conjured up a great piece of skill on the right beating two defenders before a perfect cross was hit into the back of the net by left back Addison Merricks.
The skill by Jim and the shot by Addy was a great piece of play and as the half time whistle approached Coxheath were looking the stronger of the two teams.
Blue Eagles started the second half with grit and determination and scored three goals in the space of 12 minutes with a further goal coming with 7 minutes to go making the final score 5-1 to Blue Eagles.
Plus points for today, the back four battled hard against a lively Blue Eagles forward line. Tom Huckstepp and Rob Manser never gave up in the centre of midfield and Jim Funnell had another hard working game on the right side of midfield.
The man of the match this week went to Addison Merricks who battled hard for the whole 70 minutes and when he joined the attack from his left back position gave us an extra option. Well done Addy.

Coxheath remained on track for honours this season with another fantastic display against a Leybourne side who at half time must have felt they were still in with a chance of a point from this game.
Coxheath played some great first touch football at times during this game and for some good defending and goal keeping by the Leybourne lads the score may have been more.
The first goal came as early as the 2nd minute when Danny Jones slotted the ball home following a good move on the right. Unfortunately the Leybourne goal keeper injured himself attempting to save Danny’s shot and following a delay of some four minutes was forced to leave the field.
Coxheath soon got back into their stride and on 7 minutes Chris Harrison scored following another fine passing move by Coxheath.
Coxheath seemed to be in control of the game, but a missed a penalty by Rob Manser seemed to inspire Leybourne back into the game. Leybourne battled hard and got back into the game just on half time with a shot that was drilled into the corner of the goal following a move on the left wing.
The second half saw Coxheath step up a gear and on 37 minutes Chris Harrison made it 3–1. More slick passing on both wings saw Coxheath having lots of possession with every player looking at the top of their game. Coxheath from this pressure won a corner on the left, it was taken quickly and a perfect cross by Jim Funnell was met with a powerful diving header by centre back Morgan Hellen to make it 4-1.
On 56 minutes Coxheath broke away down the left. Rob Manser received the ball on the edge of the box used his strength and skill to keep the ball before slipping it to left back Addison Merricks to make it 5-1.
The sixth goal came a minute later from Jack Flann following another good pass from the midfield engine room of Coxheath. This was Jack’s first League goal and the team’s togetherness was so evident with the congratulations Jack received from his team mates.
There were a number of candidates for man of the match this week Charlie Driver and Addison Merricks for doing a good job defensively and linking up well when we attack making the extra men. Morgan Hellen at the heart of the Coxheath defence, another solid performance. Jim Funnell, Rob Manser, Tom Huckstepp and Luke Bramley for battling hard for 70 minutes in midfield. This week though the decision went to Sean Morris for another outstanding performance at centre back. Sean always gives 100% to the team and looks so composed at the heart of the defence. Well done Sean if Rio, Sol and John have bad games you maybe the first Coxheath player to wear an England shirt.
Well done to everyone this was an excellent performance the best so far.
A special mention to Paul who must be in line for the November Manager of the Month Award.

On a very heavy pitch at Cornwallis today Coxheath were made to work hard against Roseacre for a place in the quarter final of the under 13 Cup Competition.
The game started with Coxheath looking the better of the two sides and on nine minutes the early pressure paid off with a goal from the inform Danny Jones. The rest of the half was an evenly balanced game with neither side gaining control of the midfield and very few chances at either end.
The second half saw Coxheath move up a gear and two goals from Chris Harrison on 54 minutes and 65 minutes was enough to see Coxheath into the next round.
There were a few candidates for man of the match this week. The back four were solid again and a clean sheet is something to be proud of.
In midfield Jim Funnell, who was instrumental in a lot of moves on the right, in the first half. The second half saw Luke Bramley battle hard linking up well with Addison Merricks on the left.
This week though the decision went to Addison Merricks who had another fine game at left back linking up well with the attacks and having the stamina to get back to do his defensive duties. Well done Addy second week running.
Well done to everyone we are into the quarter finals and maybe we will be in the first final at the new Wembley.

Coxheath lost this entertaining end to end battle because they failed to take their early chances more efficiently than the lively Bearsted attack.
Coxheath dominated the opening exchanges, forcing the Bearsted goalkeeper into early action and on nine minutes Luke Bramley opened to scoring latching onto a great pass before coolly slotting the ball home.
The goal seemed to spur Bearsted into life and four goals in the next 11 minutes with a number of missed opportunities by both sides made the half time score Coxheath 1 – 4 Bearsted.
The second half began much the same as the first with both teams battling hard in midfield and both defence’s holding firm. Coxheath did reduce the deficit on 47 minutes with a well taken Jim Funnell free kick that evaded the Bearsted keeper and found it way into the net.
Any thoughts of a grandstand recovery were not to be as Bearsted found the back of the net three more times themselves on 52, 67 and 69 minutes to pile more misery onto Coxheath.
Man of the match today went to Luke Bramley who had a great game on the left side of midfield causing problems when attacking down the left and putting in some important tackles when need to help his defence. Well done Luke should keep Terry off your back for a week. Only joking well done.

Two goals in each half was enough to see Coxheath march into the Under 13 Cup semi finals today with a hard working display. The first half saw Coxheath take the lead on 8 minutes following some good attacking work down the right with the resulting cross into the box being hit home by Danny Jones.
Maidstone Kestrels had some chances to equalise, but some last ditch tackles and clearances by Sean Morris, Addison Merricks and Charlie Driver kept the score at 1- 0. With half time approaching Danny Jones found himself on the edge of the Kestrels box in space hitting a looping shot that somehow found its way into the top corner of the Kestrels net to make the half time score 2-0.
The second half saw the introduction of substitute Jack Flann who hit two goals in the first eleven minutes scoring on 37 minutes and 46 minutes to secure the tie. The second goal probably being the best team goal of the season starting way back in the Coxheath half with the ball being moved from defence through to midfield to lay on the chance for the attack.
Maidstone Kestrels were given a penalty with four minutes to go for an adjudged push and the Kestrels player dully dispatched the ball into the net giving Ben Blatchford no chance.
The whole team were in contention for Man of the Match today as they battled hard and worked very well as a unit. The vote this week went to Charlie Driver who had a solid game at right back always in the thick of the action when Kestrel’s attacked. Well done to everyone this year could be our year. Lets hope so you all deserve it.

On a very heavy pitch at Cornwallis today Coxheath were made to work hard against Roseacre for a place in the quarter final of the under 13 Cup Competition.
In a game of two halves Coxheath fought back to draw 3-3 after being 3-0 down at half time and still losing by the same score with 15 minutes of the game to go.
The early exchanges in midfield bought few chances until on twenty minutes a good through ball found the Borough Green forward who was bought down on the edge of the box. From the resulting free kick the Borough Green kicker hit a tremendous shot into the roof of the net. Six minutes later Borough Green made it 2-0 with another well hit shot that found the net. As half time approached a push in the Coxheath penalty area resulted in a spot kick that was converted well.
Coxheath had few chances in first half the best going to Jack Flann who was unlucky with in shot that went just wide following a lovely move down the Coxheath left.
The second half started with neither team taking control until on 51 minutes Coxheath were given a potential life line a ball was played early in the Borough Green penalty box to Jack Flann who as he turned was upended by the Borough Green defender. Jim Funnell stepped up to take the penalty, it was poorly struck and straight at the goal keeper who had no problem saving the shot.
Coxheath did not give up got a reward on 55 minutes when the tricky Luke Bramley who had another fine game in midfield weaved his was through the Borough Green defence to score and give Coxheath hope. On 61minutes Jim Funnell made it 2-3 with a shot that found its way into the top corner of the goal.
For the last nine minutes Coxheath really dug deep and got the equalizer on 68 minutes when a fine through ball found Jack Flann who slid the ball wide of the despairing Borough Green keeper.
The man of the match this week went to Jack Flann whose last gasp goal gained Coxheath a late unexpected point. Well done Jack

With only eleven fit players to choose from and three of those playing a little under the weather and a change of formation today was always going to be a hard game to win on the sloping pitch at Valley Park.
Coxheath started off brightly enough with Jim Funnell opening the scoring after just 2 minutes, but that was the only bright moment of the half as Vinters Park thumped in four goals to leave Coxheath very depleted at half time.
The second half started much the same as the first with Coxheath scoring again just after the restart through Jack Flann and thoughts must have drifted towards another great second half recovery. Coxheath had the better of the early second half exchanges in midfield and did have chances to close the gap. However it was not to be today as Vinters Park scored three more breakaway goals with Coxheath just adding one more through Luke Bramley.
Coxheath were force to play the last eight minutes with only ten men as Chris Harrison was forced to leave the pitch with a reoccurrence of a knee injury.
This was a very disappointing result for Coxheath having beaten Vinters Park earlier in the season.
The man of the match this week went to Lewis Hogan. Lewis was strong in the centre of midfield and battled hard for the whole 70 minutes. Well done Lewis

Coxheath did manage two second half goals from Jim Funnell and Chris Harrison, but two more from Castle Colts ensured no great second half come backs.
Both teams were reduced to ten men in the final stages as a player from both sides was dismissed for violent conduct.
The man of the match today was Jim Funnell who battled hard in midfield scoring a goal, tackling hard and never giving up. Well done Jim.

In a game that should have been about 22 boys enjoying a special day and the prize of a place in the Colin Campbell Cup Final, it was the referee who took centre stage and became the most noticed person on the pitch. On three occasions he failed to give the correct decision and each time it cost Coxheath dearly.
Although under a lot of pressure in the early stages the Coxheath defence held firm and you could see the frustration on the Bearsted forwards faces as the Coxheath offside trap worked time and time again. With 22 minutes approaching Coxheath broke down the left and Luke Bramley found himself in space with only the keeper to beat and slotted the ball home.
With half time approaching Luke Bramley was fouled in the middle of the park, however play on waved the referee no advantage to Coxheath, as Bearsted won back procession and pushed the ball forward the linesmen flag went up again for offside play on again waved the referee no advantage again to Coxheath. The ball back in midfield and this time Coxheath commit a foul no play on this time a free kick is given to Bearsted.
Bearsted take the free kick and the Coxheath defence deal with it out for a throw, but the Referee declares he is not ready and allows Bearsted a second chance at the free kick. The kick is retaken and somehow scrambles its way into the Coxheath net. Half time score 1-1.
The second half started much the same as the first with Bearsted seeing most of the ball, but further strange decisions by the referee, one a corner given when it was a clear goal kick, another dubious free kick down the Bearsted right all assisted in seeing Bearsted take a 4-1 lead.
Coxheath did not give up and Jack Flann added a second shortly after coming on as a second half substitute. In the final minutes Bearsted added a fifth, but by this time Coxheath were playing with only two at the back and throwing everything forward.
Congratulation to Bearsted on reaching the Cup Final
Today everyone should be proud of themselves. We have had a good Cup run this season and with a few more decisions going our way today would have made it all the way to the Final. Well Done Lads.

On a cold and blustery day at Cornwallis, Coxheath again failed to win a League game in 2006. Playing with the wind in the first half the Coxheath forward line and midfield should have made more of their chances in front of goal. Having most of the procession during the first half it took Coxheath until the 34th minute to get on the score sheet, but it was a well taken goal from Chris Harrison following a good through ball from Jim Funnell.
The second half was always going to be a struggle playing against the wind with Coxheath really struggling to clear the ball out of their half.
The defence however did hold firm until 47 minutes when following a good through ball the lively Blue Eagles striker broke through the middle of the Coxheath back line outpacing the defence, lobbing the ball over the advancing goal keeper.
For the next 12 minutes Coxheath seemed to find some inner strength and started to take the game to Blue Eagles again, but a dribble too far was Coxheath’s down fall, the ball was lost in the Blue Eagles penalty area found its way into the back of the Coxheath net with just four passes.
A third goal always looked on the cards as Blue Eagles continued to use the wind to their advantage and again it was Coxheath’s own undoing. Following a corner on the Blue Eagles left the ball was cleared, the Coxheath defence moved out to catch any straggling forwards offside, but it was a straggling Coxheath player who played everyone onside and presented Blue Eagles with goal number three.
For thirty-five minutes today Coxheath matched top of the table Blue Eagles in this contest, but silly basic mistakes cost Coxheath dearly.
Man of the match today went to Rob Manser.

Still without a league win since the turn of the year Coxheath for the second week running fought hard and played some good football in the first half , but with mist opportunities, poor passing and a lack of fight in the second half was again to be their down fall.
It took Senacre just eight minutes to open the scoring following some good work by the visitor’s impressive hard working midfield. The score remained 1-0 at the interval.
The second half saw Senacre take full control of the midfield and their very impressive back four dealt easily with any Coxheath attack. Further goals on 40, 49, 53 and 60 minutes secured the win for Senacre and inflicted another heavy defeat on the home side.
Lewis Hogan was by far Coxheath’s most impressive player today working hard in the centre of midfield and was rewarded with Man of the Match

With only nine players to choose from due to holiday and suspensions, today was always going to be hard work for Coxheath, but it has to be said the lads on the pitch today can be very proud of themselves.
Playing on large pitch, get stuck in, pass and moved and never give up were words that were needed to encourage the nine battlers representing Coxheath today. The early exchanges were very even and maybe an upset was on the cards. However it was Leybourne who took the lead with a well taken shot that was drilled into the Coxheath net. With half time approaching Luke Bramley found a little space in the Leybourne penalty area and hit a perfect shot to beat the Leybourne keeper to make the half time score 1-1.
The second half again was very even, but you could see tiredness and the odd error creeping into the game as the nine battlers desperately fought on. Leybourne added two more goals before Chris Harrison got a second for Coxheath, but time ran out to leave Coxheath on the end of a 3-2 defeat.
Everyone worked hard today and it was unfortunate that there were not nine men of the match awards. Today the formation was 3-4-1. The three lads at the back were strong getting stuck into the tackles and clearing the ball first time. In midfield Chris Harrison played probably his best game since sustaining a knee injury some weeks ago and Jack Flann also had a fine game playing in an unfamiliar right side of midfield.
Well played everyone the most enjoyable Sunday since Christmas.
