There was little to see at this game, Coxheath didn't turn up (that was the verdict of team manager Jason Hobbs) and even the view of the sea from the slopes of Dickson Field, Eastchurch was lost in the haze. Range Rovers scored two well taken goals. Oliver Thatcher's long range shot looping over the heads of the Coxheath defence. Then, after a free kick was awarded against Andrew Watkin for a very innocuous challenge just inside the Coxheath, Jack Montgomery launched a kick that again sailed over the heads of Coxheath's defenders.
In the second half Coxheath began to play with a little more conviction and won a penalty for a push in the Range Rovers area. Thomas Flisher took the kick but Rovers keeper, Oliver Dewey pushed the ball out. Thomas followed the ball and, not maliciously, clattered the keeper. After a six minute delay Rovers eventually substituted the injured player. Although Coxheath never looked like scoring, as the clocked ticked round to 35 minutes played the referee blew for time - having decided not to play the lost time. Not the start to the season that the reigning league champions wanted, but a sharp reminder that winning the league again will take lots of effort, commitment and team work. The return match is on 17 December.

Coxheath left it late to secure all three points against Vinters Park. George Honey's headed goal came in added time at the end of the game. Vinters Park took the lead when James Abrahams rose above the Coxheath defence to head in from a corner kick. Coxheath dominated the second half. The equaliser came just three minutes after the break when Ryan Perkins scored his first league goal for Coxheath after his summer move from MPE. Vinters Park resisted relentless Coxheath pressure and saw a George Honey strike hit the bar before Honey's very late winner.

Coxheath earned a Kent Cup second round tie against Gravesend & Northfleet after seeing off local rivals Castle Wanderers. George Honey led his team from the front with a well taken hat-trick, running on to a long upfield ball from Zac Foster-Crouch and ran through the Castle defence for the first. Jack Irwin-Smith and Ryan Croucher combined to set up another through ball for Honey's second. Finally in added time Honey poked the ball home past Castle keeper Steve Haffenden after a goal mouth scramble. Although Coxheath were comfortable winners in the end they missed numerous chances with Luke Hills, Jack Naismith and Liam Hobbs all going close but not finding the net.

Coxheath were made to work hard by Staplehurst Monarchs in order to secure this cup-tie. The breakthrough came when the diminutive Ryan Perkins rose to head home Jack Naismith's cross. Monarchs keeper Lee Inman then pulled off the save of the game to push over the bar a cracking shot from Ryan Croucher before Luke Hills shot taken with the outside of his foot did find the net. Coxheath's third goal came from a defensive mix-up and George Honey poked home a loose ball from close range, but the Monarchs had an immediate reply. Alex Russell's excellent through-ball found Tom Sanders who beat the Coxheath defence to slot home a well-taken goal.
Coxheath were left to wonder how, for all their possession and their territorial advantage, they could only scored three times.
Coxheath & Farleigh: Zac Foster-Crouch – Charlie Roughton (h/t Jack Irwin-Smith), James Silver (64 Endersby), Ben Edwards (55 Roughton) – Dan Endersby (h/t Andrew Watkin), George Honey (15 Sean Quinn), Thomas Flisher, Ryan Croucher, Ryan Perkins (h/t Jack Naismith) – Luke Hills (55 Honey), Liam Hobbs (63 Perkins)
Coxheath maintained their current unbeaten run and put six goals past Castle Wanderers with a good all-round team performance showing the depth of the Coxheath squad. Liam Hobbs opened the scoring latching on to Ryan Perkins right-wing cross. Thomas Flisher made it two with a solo run through the Castle defence. In the second half Hobbs grabbed his second from Jack Naismith's long ball into the goalmouth. Naismith was on hand to set up the fourth too, crossing for Sean Quinn to head in.
Steve Haffenden, in the Castle goal, did make a number of good saves including palming over the bar a lob from Andrew Watkin. But he couldn't stop either of Coxheath's final two goals. Ryan Croucher opening his goal scoring account for Coxheath with a fabulous long-range strike, which George Honey emulated a minute later with a tremendous shot taken on the volley from outside the goal area.
Castle kept battling and worked the ball into the Coxheath area for Harry Jeffery to poach a well-deserved goal.

Reigning Maidstone league champions Coxheath found themselves playing the unfamiliar role of underdogs in their Tesco Cup second round tie against Gravesend & Northfleet of the Kent league. Although Coxheath were unlucky to go behind in the second minute of the game, they competed for every ball. Gravesend doubled their lead with a headed goal from a corner but Zac Foster-Croucher saved a spot kick after Andrew Watkin was harshly judged to have impeded Abbass Mwambakale.
In the second half Coxheath hit the woodwork twice, from a Thomas Flisher strike and from a George Honey spot kick, and Gravesend keeper Shane Brown saved bravely to deny Luke Hills a scoring opportunity. Despite some excellent defensive work from Watkin and James Silver, Gravesend poached a third goal and in added time Mwambakale shook off Watkin's close attention long enough to show his class with a fine shot outside the goal area into the top of the Coxheath net. Although Coxheath were well beaten, and failed to take their scoring opportunities, they were not outclassed by the higher league team and with every player giving 100% they showed the ability to compete on the countywide stage.

Coxheath put seven goals past Barming Youth with six coming in an entertaining first half with Coxheath showing the form and footballing quality that earned them the league title last season. Thomas Flisher led the way with a first half hat-trick, the second of those from a header after some quality wing play from Sean Quinn who also got on the score sheet. When Coxheath earned a penalty, keeper Zac Foster-Crouch confidently scored from the spot kick and Jack Naismith headed another goal set up by Ryan Perkins and Ryan Croucher. Both sides made changes at half time. Coxheath lost much of their first half momentum and Barming put up some spirited defence and attack. Ben Edwards broke down one attack and started the move that saw Luke Hills confidently slot home for Coxheath's seventh goal. But even with seven goals and a clean sheet Coxheath were left to regret not keeping their impressive first half display up for the whole game.

Cranbrook's young team made Coxheath work hard on a very heavy pitch to progress in the Cup. Sean Quinn opened the scoring by poaching a goal after a George Honey shot was palmed away by Cranbrook keeper Sam Leale-Green who had an exceptional game. Cranbrook used their pace to equalise but Luke Hills restored Coxheath's lead by knocking home Thomas Flisher's corner. Honey extended that lead driving a shot low past Leale-Green. Coxheath maintained the pressure with Hills striking the bar and Honey having a shot cleared off the line. Although Cranbrook pulled a late goal back, Coxheath maintained the greater threat and secured the win and a place in the last eight.

Coxheath's captain George Honey led his side to victory over Cranbrook with three goals. Thomas Flisher opened the scoring for Coxheath with a well-taken drive. Ryan Croucher matched that with his shot into the top corner of Cranbrook's goal. Honey poached his first goal, before a defensive error gifted Cranbrook their goal, but Coxheath's win was secured as Honey's left wing cross found the net, after excellent wing play from Jack Irwin-Smith, and Honey poked home Andrew Watkin's corner to secure his hat-trick.
