Our first home match of the season, at a new pitch
for us, was against Burham, the team at the bottom of the league last
season without a win.
This season their side has been transformed to a side
playing to their strengths of quick breaks, and after a defensive mix up
we fell behind. We increased the tempo and our passing game soon created
some chances the first scoring from direct running by Sam. He later
added a second after some good play on the right.
Though they had several chances from their quick
breaks overall we had the better of the play. Ben (B-S) collected the
ball on the edge of the area and advanced on goal, being fouled brought
down from behind he slipped the ball to Sam, the referee played the
advantage and Sam scored for his hat trick.
In the second half Burham pulled another back but we
closed the game down, playing largely in their half, shortly before the
end after winning some corners Ben Fagg secured the points with a close
range finish.
